Who this applies to

PlayLog (“we,” “us”) operates the website at playlog.online and the PlayLog mobile app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the site or the app.

This website

Browsing this site. Like most sites, our hosting and infrastructure may log technical information when you load a page (for example IP address, request time, and browser type) for security and reliability. This site is commonly deployed to providers such as Vercel; they process requests on our behalf.

Signed-in pages on the website. If you sign in on playlog.online (for example to view your account or subscribe to PlayLog Plus), we use the same Clerk account as the mobile app and connect your session to our backend so we can show your profile and subscription status. Pages such as account and Plus billing do not collect card numbers on playlog.online; checkout and billing management happen on our payment partner’s hosted pages (see PlayLog Plus below).

The PlayLog app and our services

Account and sign-in (Clerk). The app uses Clerk for authentication. That includes details such as your email address and a user id assigned to your account. Clerk processes this information under its own policies: clerk.com/legal/privacy.

Product analytics (PostHog). We use PostHog to understand how the app and signed-in web pages (such as account and Plus billing) are used so we can improve the product (for example feature usage, onboarding, library actions, and Playnite link flows). After you sign in, we may associate events with your account identifier. We do not use PostHog to show third-party advertising. PostHog is described here: posthog.com/privacy.

App and device context. The app and analytics SDKs may process technical data such as app version, device type, operating system, and language or locale, as needed to run the app and understand usage.

Your library and account data (PlayLog). When you use the app, we process and store information needed to provide the service, including your game library and related information synced from Playnite through our servers, playlists, play status, playtime and session information, and notes you add in the app. Linking a Playnite device uses your PlayLog account and our backend. Data is sent between the app, our services, and our providers using encryption in transit (for example TLS) where supported.

PlayLog Plus (optional subscription). PlayLog Plus is an optional paid tier. You can subscribe on playlog.online while signed in with the same account you use in the app. When you start or manage a subscription, you are sent to hosted checkout or billing pages operated by Dodo Payments. Dodo collects and processes payment and billing details (such as card information and billing address) under its own policies. We do not receive or store your full card number on our servers.

To provide Plus and keep your entitlement in sync across the website and app, we store subscription-related information linked to your account, such as whether Plus is active, your plan (monthly, annual, or lifetime), renewal or access dates, and identifiers Dodo assigns to your customer or subscription so we can confirm payments and handle support. We receive updates about your subscription from Dodo (including through secure webhooks) when you subscribe, renew, change plan, or cancel.

How we use information

We use the information above to run and improve PlayLog(including the site, the app, and Playnite link features), to provide and administer PlayLog Plus subscriptions, to process billing events with our payment partner, to understand product use through analytics, to secure our systems, to respond to support requests, and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your information with advertisers for their own marketing. Third-party services we use are described in the Service providers and links section below.

How long we keep it

We keep app and account data while your account is active and for a period afterward if needed to resolve issues, meet legal requirements, or maintain reasonable backups, unless we delete it sooner in response to your request where applicable. Subscription and billing-related records are kept for as long as needed to provide Plus, handle renewals and cancellations, resolve disputes, and meet tax and accounting obligations. Server and infrastructure logs are kept only as long as our providers need for operations and security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. To exercise those rights, contact us using the information below.

International data transfers

We and our service providers (including authentication, payments, analytics, and hosting) may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. If you use PlayLog from outside those regions, your information may be transferred to and stored in the United States or elsewhere as needed to provide the service.

Children

PlayLog is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as posting a notice on this site or in the app.
